NCAA Game Summary - Cincinnati At Syracuse
Cedric McGowan scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Cincinnati Bearcats past the Syracuse Orange, 82-65, in Big East Conference action from the Carrier Dome.
The Bearcats (17-9, 6-6 Big East) received 19 points and eight rebounds from Jihad Muhammed, while James White added 18 points in the win. Devan Downey chipped in 16 points, while Eric Hicks added eight points and 11 rebounds.
The Orange (17-8, 5-6) was led by Eric Devendorf who scored 15 points in the loss. Gerry McNamara and Demetris Nichols added 14 and 13 points, respectively, while Matt Gorman posted 10 points off the bench.
Syracuse shot 50 percent from the field in the first half to take a 41-40 lead at the break.
Cincinnati dominated the second half, shooting 18-of-32 from the field, while limiting the home team to a mere nine field goals, to capture the 17-point victory.
The Bearcats played strong in the post, outscoring Syracuse 38-28 in the paint.
